Overview

MAYAH’s latest codec generation CENTAURI III means a powerful tool for all kinds of professional broadcasting applications. It offers both the future-proof Audio-over-IP and the backwards compatible technologies like ISDN or optional X.21. CENTAURI III can be used in control rooms and OB vans, recording studios and by voice artists, at studio-transmitter-links and web radios to name just a few.

Two independent Ethernet interfaces and 4 ISDN S0 allow secure and high quality transmissions. Advanced features such as Redundant Streaming, Automatic Backup and SIP-ISDN Gateway are part of the CENTAURI core. It supports all imaginable coding algorithms of the broadcasting industry from G.711/G.722 and MPEG-1 Layer2/Layer3 to MPEG-4 AAC / HE-AACv2. Also supported are different Ultra Low Delay algorithms and uncompressed linear audio.

Based on industry standards CENTAURI III offers a versatile platform for content distribution applications. It is also particularly useful as a universal studio counterpart or Gateway for switchable audio contribution links. Thanks to its full conformity with the EBU ACIP standard and to the extensive support of the SIP protocol, connections with any standards-based IP codec can be established easily.

CENTAURI III 3001 offers analog and digital inputs and outputs for mono or stereo operation. CENTAURI III 4000 can be used for independent encoding and decoding of up to 8 audio channels. The special feature is an FM-to-MPEG TS transcoding for easy streaming of up to 8 FM radio stereo programs over IP.

CENTAURI III 4000 multichannel IP Audio Codec

Is a dedicated IP encoder/decoder for up to 8 independent mono channels or up to 4 stereo programs. Each can be handled as a separate stream or put together in almost any desired combination. It can be used as a central communication entity for multiple outside broadcast units using SIP (EBU ACIP TECH 3326), used for communication via SendIt4.com, encode and stream the content by using MPEG Transport Stream or as TCP, or UDP/RTP streams for web distribution servers like Shoutcast, Wowza or Darwin Streaming Server.

CENTAURI III 4000 FM-to-MPEG-TS Transcoder

Allows independent encoding of up to 8 FM radio programs (stereo or mono) into separate single program transport streams (SPTS) or one multiple program stream (MPTS) at its dedicated streaming IP output. FM signals provided digitally directly to encoder. By default MPEG Layer 2 is provided. MPEG-4 AAC or HE-AACv2 can be used optionally.
