MAYAH’s new MPEG-4 H.264/AVC SD En/Decoder IO [io] 8000 covers the applications from MobileTV to SNG and STL

MAYAH Stand at IBC: 4.155

Munich, July 24th, 2007: At the IBC 2007 MAYAH will present its new MPEG-4 H.264/AVC SD En/Decoder IO [io] 8000/8001 with an extensive audio and video interfaces and powerful coding capabilities. The new IO [io] 8000/8001 allows an even broader application range: from MobileTV (DVB-H / DMB) to STL, SNG and further distribution applications.

For easy integration in any professional environment, the IO [io] now equipped with 1x SDI interface, as well as with a component, S-Video and CVBS (Composite) inputs and outputs. Along with the availability of an SDI embedded audio, there are following interfaces provided to feed the sound to the device: Toslink connector for swithcable ADAT / SPDIF, 4x AES/EBU and 8x balanced Analogue Ins/Outs , as well as conventional 4x XLRs for analogue audio input & output. Synchronization can be achieved either on SDI interface or on the Genlock I/O. In addition to RS232 port for wired remote control or ancillary data there is now an RS485 for some future applications available.

Communication capabilities of IO [io] can be extended with optional ASI and/or dual 10/100/1Gbit Ethernet interfaces. Dual Ethernet can be used either for redundant streaming or separation of multimedia streaming and the device management.

IO [io] 8000/8001 provides an IP data stream of a highest compatibility thanks to its ISMA 2.0 compliance. The strictly standards-based MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 coding algorithm, secures the highest possible compatibility of the with the end-user terminals; for example with MobileTV receivers or software players for In-House streaming with desktop preview applications. Advanced coding helps to keep the high picture quality even at very low resolutions and bit rates. Optimal audio quality can be reached using fully standard-conform MPEG-4 AAC LC or the advanced MPEG-4 HE AACv2 algorithms. Basic presets in the remote control software allow easy choice of the required resolution and coding parameters.

For absolutely reliable links IO [io] provides such useful features as fast automatic re-connect and re-sync in case of power or IP-route failure. With satisfactory broadcasting quality reached at bitrates as low as 2 Mbit/s this is an affordable solution for any contemporary SD SNG, STL and other contribution or distribution application. Optional feature for transmission with MPEG TS / FEC, either over IP/RTP or ASI makes the IO [io] an extremely flexible tool for various broadcasting applications.

With the new core of the IO [io] 8000 / 8001 there is even higher precision of the lip sync during the MPEG-4 H.264/AVC live transmission can be reached. To put more focus on this significant topic MAYAH will offer any of their stand visitors at the IBC a quiz, to check an ability to notice the exact lip sync or the given audio video off-set.
